ITINERARY

Day 1 – Jungle Trekking Adventure
The journey begins at 8:30 AM when our guide picks you up directly from your hotel or guesthouse in Bukit Lawang village.

Shortly after at 8:50 AM, we gather at the Bukit Lawang Orangutan Tour meeting point for a short briefing about the trekking program and safety guidelines inside Gunung Leuser National Park. By 9:00 AM, we step into the rainforest and the adventure truly begins. Winding through beautiful jungle trails, we search for wild Sumatran orangutans and other fascinating wildlife along the way.

Our guide will share knowledge about the rainforest ecosystem, wildlife behavior, and the jungle plants traditionally used by local people as natural medicine. Around midday, we take a refreshing break to enjoy fresh tropical fruits prepared by the guide before pressing on deeper into the rainforest. As the afternoon draws to a close, we arrive at our first jungle campsite nestled beside the river.

The evening is spent unwinding while our guide prepares a delicious traditional jungle dinner, before settling in for a night under the stars at the campsite.

Day 2 – Explore Deeper into the Rainforest
The morning begins with the sounds of the jungle all around you, followed by a warm breakfast prepared by our guide.

Today the trek takes us even deeper into the rainforest, venturing into areas that are more natural and far less visited by tourists. This stretch of the journey offers a wonderful opportunity to encounter more wildlife such as monkeys, birds, and sometimes even gibbons swinging through the canopy above.

Along the way, the guide will point out fascinating jungle plants and explain how local communities have long used them for food and medicine.

Around midday we stop for lunch and fresh fruits to recharge before continuing through the lush greenery. By afternoon, we reach our second jungle campsite where you can relax, swim in the river, or simply breathe in the peaceful atmosphere of the rainforest.

Our guide prepares another satisfying dinner as we settle in for our second night camping beneath the jungle canopy.

Day 3 – Jungle Walk & River Tubing
After a hearty breakfast, we set off on a final short morning trek through the rainforest, with one last opportunity to spot wildlife in their natural habitat. Late in the morning, we make our way to the riverside where the guides prepare for the highlight that many consider the most exciting part of the entire experience — river tubing on the Bahorok River.

Sitting comfortably on large rubber tubes tied together, we drift downstream while soaking in the stunning rainforest scenery stretching out on both sides of the river. It is the perfect blend of relaxation and excitement to wrap up an unforgettable jungle adventure. The river tubing brings us back to Bukit Lawang village, typically arriving around 12:00 to 1:00 PM, conveniently close to your accommodation.
